A Review of Progressive Skatepark in Atlanta, Georgia
11/2/2013
We recently took a trip to the north of the south, Atlanta, Georgia, where just outside of that super city is Progressive Skatepark that shut down about a year ago. What's it going to take to re-open this place?
Lakeland Skatepark Innoskate 2014 Planning
11/2/2013
The Boardr crew was recently in Lakeland for a meeting with city officials and representatives from the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C. to discuss an event involving the Lakeland Skatepark and the Polk Museum of Art. Innoskate 2013 was an event at the Smithsonian that brought a lot of attention to skateboarding, its influence on culture, and its amazing evolution over the last several decades. The event we're working on in Lakeland will highlight and celebrate a lot of the same things. While we met at the Lakeland Skatepark early that morning, I shot a few photos of everything there. Team Pain and the Lakeland locals that helped design it did a great job with this Park. What's wrong with Tampa and why don't we have something like this already? It's because something got old and forgotten about, then suddenly ended up being a roadblock to progression. I hope our city can work through that mess and get us out of 1970's skateboarding soon. If you're trying to go to Lakeland Skatep
Copenhagen Streets
10/29/2013
We're in Copenhagen once a year when the skateboarding world comes together at Copenhagen Pro. As you've seen from all the coverage, it's a great city with everything you need as a pusher of the wood and wheels: great skate spots, happy ass people, nightlife that lasts through noon the next day, and more. Get a sample of street shred going on outside of that party week from Hjalte Halberg, Jonas Skrøder, Laurent Gehin, Emil Hvilsom, and more in this Kingpin video they just put out. I'm still not convinced it's the last year of Copenhagen Pro. More on that later.
Detroit, Skateboarding, Art, and Community
10/26/2013
Watching the story of Ride It Sculpture Park in Detroit unfold over the years has been a demonstration of two powerful things, the Detroit community and skateboarding.
Fun Fun Fun Fest in Austin Next Month with The Boardr
10/18/2013
How much does your music taste vary? I think one of the best side effects of skateboarding is that your music taste is all over the place, except for the generally terrible jock rock food court jams. A music festival is just the place for people like us. This one in Austin, Texas on November 8 - 10 will also feature some vert skating from Christian Hosoi, PLG, and others. Speaking over the airwaves while all this goes down is Ryan Clements. See you there if you're anywhere near Austin in November. It's called the Fun Fun Fun Fest.

The Finals at Copenhagen Pro 2013
8/4/2013
The Finals at Copenhagen Pro are always some of the best skating you'll see all year. The mix of skaters that come to this contest is so diverse and unlike any other contest, which is why we started referring to it as the Tampa Pro of Europe years ago. I hope you where here, but if not, I've got a cell phone edit and photos for you.

Copenhagen Pro 2013 Kicks Off
8/2/2013
There aren't many events out there that remind me of how we used to run Tampa Pro. Copenhagen Pro is one of those. It's just loose and chill with ripping skating, raging nightlife, and big smile hospitality. I've got a bunch of photos and sequences as usual.
