BINGO at The Boardr, The Dekline Premiere, and Tampa's Big Weekend

While much of the industry is in town, we had a few things of our own going on including an industry game of SKATE we called BINGO at The Boardr. We also showed the Dekline True Blue video and watched some of Tampa Am, too. I've got a few photos from all that and HiDefJoe has the video recap.

Ripping Skateboarding and Hip Hop at Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival

The Boardr crew had the pleasure of working with Tyler the Creator and Vans Syndicate to run a skateboard shindig right alongside the Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival. We saw ripping skateboarding and equally shredding hip hop shows from Action Bronson who threw half a pound into the crowd to Rick Ross whose boys let us chill on stage behind him as he performed. Damn, what a Saturday.
Upcoming Events in Tampa with The Boardr

We've got one more upcoming event this weekend outside of Tampa where Tyler and the Golf Wang crew have hired The Boardr to run an invite only skateboarding contest while the 3rd Annual Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival goes down right next to us. There's an open best trick portion to it, too, so bring your board if you have a ticket. Pharrell, Tyler, Ricky Rosay, Mr. Fisherman, Earl and more are performing. I'm a fan of the entire spectrum of hip hop from party rap to the intellectual tunes, so I'm especially excited on this one. After that, it's all Tampa. Here's the list of things coming soon with The Boardr. Thanks for being a part of what we're doing in skateboarding.

I still can't believe that we have skateboarders from 6-years-old to 53-years-old skating all day in these events. We saw the sun come up on one side of the skatepark and saw it set on the other side as 150+ entries went through in all those divisions.
Southbound and Down: Photos and an On The Boardr Episode

Finally, we were in town to have our first event at The Boardr Headquarters after a super busy summer and fall of events in everyone else's backyard. I've got a few photos and Joe has an episode of On The Boardr from what turned out to be a super chill and fun day of bikes, skateboarding, a little booze, and a lot of friends meeting a lot of other friends as these worlds of four wheels and two wheels spent an entire day together. I hope you were here!

How Nyjah Huston Lost to Nassim Guammaz in South Africa

Half way through the 3 minute jam, you could hear the crowd getting more and more live as it became apparent that Nassim had a chance of beating Nyjah in their first head to head bracket. Then the crowd started chanting for Nassim. After the last minute of the jam with both skaters getting in their bangers, it was Nassim on top by just 1.33 points to advance. When it was announced, the crowd went nuts. Nyjah smiled and congratulated Nassim for knocking him out of the brackets. In the end, Kelvin who didn't have to skate against Nyjah because of that, ended up winning the $100k. The tricks here are just a small sample of what went down. HiDefJoe is only one person filming these two rippers.

That crowd reaction when Nassim edged out Nyjah in the second round by just a few points was insane. They almost brought all the tents down. Porpe and I were up here sweating bullets as the last few Jams' scores came in and Jereme was hanging on the bubble of the cut the whole time. He made it! Tomorrow he's matched up against Tyson Bowerbank in the head to head battles for the Finals.

The crew of Boardr Boys took 16 hour flights and other puddle jumpers to get to Kimberley, South Africa where before getting to work on running this skateboarding shindig, we went on a lion petting and feeding mission. It's Scotty the Body's first time in the motherland where you'll find him on the mic all weekend entertaining with Tim O'Connor.

Southbound and Down: Good Times, Motorcycles, and Skateboarding

One week from tomorrow on Saturday the 27th at The Boardr HQ is a melting pot of motorcycles, skateboarding, and damn good times starting at noon. Our mini-ramp will be done where a jam will go down at 3pm after free PBR starts flowing at 2pm. At 5pm is a garage built chopper show. Most of the staff here at The Boardr rolls on two wheels when we're not on four, so this is one we're super excited about. I hope to see you here.
