Grind for Life Awards Recap at The Boardr

Thanks to everyone who came from all over Florida to join us in recognizing all that was accomplished by everyone this year, plus one last event benefiting GFL's cause. I've got a few photos here and HiDefJoe has the video.

"Listen to Ryan Clements" is a long running joke from way back when everyone used to make those "Listen to" shirts. We have a special award called Listen to Ryan Clements to Autumn from a funny incident at Bradenton where Ryan was on the mic asking everyone to stand up to make more room. Autumn flat out refused. So, she gets the Listen to Ryan Clements award for not listening. Nice!

Tary got the Old Man Down Award for, well, going down on an injury at Bradenton. Get well quick!

Jake and Nate Ilardi's grandma got the Grandma of the Year award for taking them to all of the GFL events. Those are two fine young men that have been raised.

We gave The Future Looks Bright award to Keenan for obvious reasons.

Tony Walsh and his Mr Nice Guy persona led us to create the Soft on the Inside Award.

Drew's smith grind entries into the deep end were insane. He's got a special award called Risky Smith for that.

We gave Body an award called Body's Back after he re-joined us at events this year.

Pause to admire Body's body on the big screen.

Thanks to everyone who came to wrap the year up with us.

Thanks Jimmy for another stellar acceptance speech.

We created an annual special award called the Mike Rogers Award that will go to the person who most embodies the spirit of Mike and what he's been through and done. Thanks again for everything, Mike!

Grind for Life Bradenton Photos, Video, and Results

I still can't believe that we have skateboarders from 6-years-old to 53-years-old skating all day in these events. We saw the sun come up on one side of the skatepark and saw it set on the other side as 150+ entries went through in all those divisions.

Grind for Life Series at Lakeland Skatepark

HiDefJoe has a video recap of a great day of skating from young to old at the first stop of the Grind for Life Series in association with The Boardr. We weren't sure if 1 or 100 of you would enter. Turns out it was 143 with everyone bringing a crew of family and friends for a nice day on wheels with a good sized crowd and great Florida weather to match. Damn, it couldn't have been any better. I'll tell you the rest of the story in my photos below.

I've got some photos and HiDefJoe has the video. The skateboarding at last weekend's New Smyrna Beach stop of the GFL Series was all over the spectrum of different types and ages of skateboarding as usual, but this time, the bowl portion was most memorable. The street course there is not the best in the world, but just as skateboarders do, you make the best of what you've got. There were parent/child combos, toddlers, teens, girls, grown ass men, and extra grown 50+ men all ripping all day. Thanks to everyone that made it out to another one.

This past weekend was very eventful for the skateboarding world. Street League Pro Open went down in Los Angeles, most of The Boardr crew was in Las Vegas for the Zappos Rideshop and Mr. Grind for Life himself, Mike Rogers, was in Orange County, California for the Vans Pool Party. But the most important event of the weekend was the Grind for Life Series at Ramp 48 in Ft. Lauderdale. Here are the photos, videos, and results.

BINGO at The Boardr, The Dekline Premiere, and Tampa's Big Weekend

While much of the industry is in town, we had a few things of our own going on including an industry game of SKATE we called BINGO at The Boardr. We also showed the Dekline True Blue video and watched some of Tampa Am, too. I've got a few photos from all that and HiDefJoe has the video recap.

It was another nice Florida weekend of skateboarding from literally all ages and skills. From 7-year-olds to 53-year-olds and everyone in between, men and women included, everyone ripped. Thanks for coming out to another one. With HiDefJoe on the west coast working on other projects, filmer intern Nate took over on this one and has the video recap along with some photos.

The third stop of the Grind for Life Series Presented by adidas just went down at New Smyrna in Florida. Grind for Life is a series of all ages and skills skateboarding contests with both bowl and street divisions. The year ends in December with the Grind for Life Annual Awards at The Boardr HQ.
