Copenhagen Just Had the Best Vert Session That Ever Happened

Posted by Rob Meronek on Sunday, August 31, 2014

After things got rained out on Sunday, we moved it all over to Copenhagen Skatepark and added a Vert Jam along with a tight squeeze for the crowd into the bowl there. Then followed the usual after-party until 6am. HiDefJoe's got a video recap and I've got a weekend camera dump below.

Air BNB and the good folks of Copenhagen have us in this huge flat all week feeling like true locals.

Couldn't do it.

So much hoofing through the streets with gear on the back, thigh fires blazing.

Pause for a quick session at the Worlds Best Spot. We all filmed a clip here for this birthday part tradition brewing among the old guy skateboarders.

There's stuff here for the non-old guys, too.

The ground's so good, every time I come here, I consider the big jump.

The tree is over 100 years old. Some dick was tired of sweeping leaves out of the bowl so he chopped the bark off around the base like this. The tree will now die in about two years. Insane.

The next morning, we pulled ourselves out of crusty bed to be on site for the Bowl Jam at Christania. No one was feeling getting there all early at 2pm, so we chilled and waited.
Profile: Ryan Clements

A couple hours later, STILL no one here. Nap time.
Profile: Joe Pelham aka HiDefJoe

Finally, everyone arrives, but no one brings their boards. Today is a big chill fest. Today at 'work' in Copenhagen at the Christania Bowl, Porpe rolled dope, napped in a hammock, had HiDefJoe bring him coffee and lunch, then did nap number two before calling it a day. How do I get a job like that? Thank you to the good people of Copenhagen for having us here for another fun time and insane skateboarding.

We're coming up on 24 hours of travel and straight bored as hell in the airport right now.
