Zumiez 100K: A Wild Party in the Mountains

Every year we go downhill without wheels, courtesy of Zumiez and their 100k event that gathers up all their top sales staff along with your favorite skateboarders and brands that they sell. We get to fan out like little kids meeting pros for the first time. Thanks for the good times up high, Zumiez.

An early morning ride into the Tampa Airport. I don't think Rob is even awake in this photo.

Before we got on the road to Keystone we stopped and skated the park in Golden, CO. It was crazy windy and very cold.

Rob is no stranger to a styled out front rock.

Clem dropping off the rental car and heading into the pre party. Fun fact I was standing under a heater that looked like a giant gas station chicken heater when I shot this photo.

Next year we are getting Clem a podium we can take from party to party so that everyone gets a chance to talk to him.

See what I'm saying. We couldn't even leave the party .Rob and I had to go find a fire to stand by to keep warm while Clem talked to everyone.

I took the GoPro out on the slopes but I'm not very good at snowboarding so I couldn't really use it that much. This is Rob and I waiting to get some snowboard boots.

Going up is way easier than coming down.

It was really cold and I was very under prepared.

Rob was stoked on the open snack bar.

Zumiez hooked us up with some bananas and beer. I'm not going to lie, I drank all those beers and ate most of the bananas.

Zion was out and about.

The party was gnarly. It is amazing to see all the Zumiez staff members stoked on the company.

I didn't talk to Muska once, but I shot more than a few photos of him.

Rob and I spent a good part of the night trying to make this moment happen. In retrospect I should have got a photo just like this.

There is way too much skateboarding in this photo. I mean really, just think about the number of tricks these four dudes have done in their lives.

An Insane Skateboard Party in the Mountains

Every year, Zumiez invites key people and pros in the skateboard industry for a day of snowboarding and a night of a ceremony to recognize their top staff people. I stacked headshots the whole night until the booze and altitude got to me. I've got a few photos and some sketchy cell phone video for you.

HiDefJoe comes in with another episode of On The Boardr documenting the shred here at X Games Austin. I've got a few skate photos, and Porpe runs the nightlife at the Monster party where Joey Badass did a small private show that I didn't know about prior to making my decision to stay in. Stupid. Moral of the story kids: always go out and party. You never know what you're going to miss.
