The Boardr Doors Opening Soon
Published 2/20/2014 by Jorge Angel aka Porpe
For the past couple of weeks we set up our offices inside the empty store at The Boardr. Looks like we need a new place to conduct the behind-the-scenes business since our first displays arrived today. Here are some photos of the progress. We open on March 3rd.

The dudes over at Built are the ones who are building our custom displays. They do amazing work. We’re looking forward to the rest of the stuff they will be bringing in next week.

An Official Bid'niss Milestone for The Boardr
11/19/2013
It's been a fun few months of building a company from scratch. Today, we set an accounting formality and officially started The Boardr payroll. The first four employees are Ryan Clements, Jorge Angel aka Porpe, Bob Freeman, and Rob Meronek behind the lens here. I wonder how long this is going to last? I would guess 2013 to infinity. Thank you for the support, thanks skateboarding for everything else, and here's to 2014! That other document Ryan is holding is another piece of important sentiment for us that I'll address in another post. I just wanted to have it in this memorable photo and early milestone.
Another Milestone: We Shipped Our First Little Stack of Orders Today
2/4/2014
Inventory's in and stuff's online now. We ended our first weekend of being digitally open with a few orders for The Boardr T Shirt and some other random stuff. It was a memorable day for us. I'm just documenting it with a few quick snaps. This milestone seems like it has caused the work to just get started. Good thing it's mostly skateboarding work because that's a pretty good time. If your name was in that pile, thanks for the support.
More Milestones at The Boardr: Course Planning Begins and Our First Retail Customers' Support

There's so much going on here from events planning to systems work to physical buildout to financial stuff to skate park ideas that I can't even keep track of where I'm at and what I've documented. We're working smart and steady here still putting our 2014 together while I pause here for an update. Our tenants in the other half of our warehouse are now out so we can start figuring out what will work for our facility to play with our skateboards in.
Two Milestones at The Boardr This Week

A couple things happened this week that made it seem that much more real with all this skateboard bid'niss building we're doing around here. We got our first order of retail inventory in and our first online registration dollar hit the account.
Welcome to The Boardr

Well I need somewhere to put all this silly crap I like to do like foot fetish, Nerdsday Thursday, skate photos, silly videos, and other random banter. So, I started The Boardr today after my last day at Skatepark of Tampa. The Boardr will house all the stuff I love about skateboarding plus a new system I'm creating to help people simply and easily run skateboarding events with a digital, mobile scoring system. Shortly after August, it then evolved into a full blown skateboarding professional services company where I'm partnered up with Ryan Clements. Thanks for stopping by.

You Need Some Casual Skateboarding In Your Life
2/26/2014
You know those boards that you just ride to the bar or the store where you're just doing nothing but pushing and thinking about the wind against you? Yep, cruisers. I call them casual skateboarding. Everyone should have one from the rail chomper to the retired kickflipper. We got a stack in from Z-Flex and Penny that you can pick up and roll on now.
