Static IV Premiere at Tampa Theater
Published 5/10/2014 by Rob Meronek
Thanks to Josh Stewart for keeping the art and craft of skateboarding and how it's documented consistent with what made us all fall in lifelong love with it in the first place. I snapped a few chill cam shots throughout the night that started at Tampa Workspace and ended at the showing at Tampa Theater.

Andrew Watson and his custom furniture and fixtures company, Built, made just about everything in The Boardr Store. Built is connected to Tampa Workspace here where the Pep Kim art show is.
You know how people talk about moving to the woods when they get old and leaving civilization behind? I want to do that one day when it comes to digital tools. Throw everything out and change to making physical things with my hands instead of digital things with a keyboard and/or camera. Maybe I'll have a contraption or two like this.

Yonnie Cruz on The Boardr: Static IV, GX1000 Plans, and More

Are you ready for the Static IV premiere this Friday at Tampa Theater at 10pm? We are hyped. HiDefJoe has Yonnie Cruz on The Boardr in our new feature where he discusses the GX edits and where it's going, what it was like filming for his Static IV part, and more. I first met Yonnie in 2002 when he was just starting to get good at skating and was beyond stoked on every new thing he learned from basic kickflips to bomb drops off the ramp decks. That outgoing, excitable personality remains through today where it's nice to see matched with great style in skateboarding.
Yonnie Cruz' Incognito Part

Theories and Mike Atwood have Yonnie's full Incognito part. To me, Yonnie embodies the type of skater that Josh Stewart's Static series captures. Speaking of Josh, Jenkem has a great interview with him.
A New York City Skateboarding Vacation

I spent the weekend with Clem and Porpe in New York to check out Street League and hang out with our friends from Tampa that flew the coop for the big city. Pat Stiener recently moved up there and now lives with Josh Stewart. Thanks to them for putting us up and making us feel like locals with knowing the right spots to eat, drink, and of course skate. Things wrapped up with a golden ticket to the MTV Video Music Awards After Party which was one of the most interesting nights I've had in a long time. Here's a camera dump.
