Vans Pro Skate Park Series Qualifier at Florianopolis

This is the first ever World Championships of Park skateboarding with the introduction of the Vans Pro Skate Park Series. The Boardr is the Sport Organizer of the Series. The Boardr Live™ will run scoring and data behind the scenes.

This event is free to watch, no tickets needed.

Registration

Each Qualifier stop of the Vans Pro Skate Park Series will consist of participating PS Park Series Select Pros, and is open to established ams and pros. Participation for qualifiers will be granted in each event at the discretion of The Boardr.

The Vans Pro Skate Park Series is an advanced skill level event for ages 15 and up. Watch for a Junior Series forming soon that will properly highlight the younger rippers under 15.

  • 9am – 6pm – Registration
  • 9am – 11am – Organized Practice Group 1
  • 11am – 1pm – Organized Practice Group 2
  • 1pm – 3pm – Organized Practice Group 3
  • 3pm – 6pm – Organized Practice for Invited Skaters
Thursday
  • 9am – 6pm – Registration
  • 9am – 11am – Organized Practice Group 1
  • 11am – 1pm – Organized Practice Group 2
  • 1pm – 3pm – Organized Practice Group 3
  • 4pm – Registration cut off for skaters in Qualifiers
  • 4:30pm: Qualifiers Heats Posted (on website, Insta @TheBoardr, Twitter @TheBoardr)
  • 5pm – Riders Meeting
  • 3pm – 6pm – Organized Practice for Invited Skaters
Friday
  • 9am – 10:30am – Open Practice
  • 10:30am – 3pm – Qualifiers – Organized jams
    • 5 skater jams, skate in order
    • 4 runs each
    • Max 30 seconds or skate until you fall
    • Judged on overall impression
    • Top 5 advance to Semi-Finals
  • 3pm – 5pm – Practice for Semi-Finalists
  • 4pm – Rehearsal with live announcers, judges, and all tech staff
  • 4:30pm – Registration cut off for Invited Skaters
  • 5pm – Semi-Finals Heats Posted (on website, social, etc.)
Saturday
  • 10am – Practice for Semi-Finalists
  • 12pm – Semi-Finals
    • 20 skaters
    • Top 5 from Qualifiers meet 15 invited skaters
    • There will always be 20 skaters in the Semi-Finals
    • 2 alternates permitted in Practice
    • 5 skater heats
    • 4 runs each
    • Max 45 seconds or skate until you fall
    • Best run counts
    • Top 8 advance to Finals
  • 2pm – Finals
    • 4 runs each
    • Max 45 seconds or skate until you fall
    • First wall rebate, one time only, clock resets
    • Best run counts
  • 3pm – Best Trick
    • Obstacle TBD

Vans Pro Skate Park Series Season Rankings

Skaters are awarded points based on their respective placings at each Qualifiers stop.

Skaters’ top three results from the current year count towards final point totals to determine the VPSPS Season Rankings. Season Rankings determine the top five Challengers that earn a spot in the Global Championships at Malmo, joining the 15 PS Select Pros.

The Venue

The Seaside Skate Park was a project created by RTMF and designed by the legendary Leo Kakinho.For the VPSPS, Vans is donating two obstacles to improve the Park for the Contest.

Public Transportation and Parking

If you are coming from the Center Terminal (TICEN) or from Rio Tavares Terminal (TIRIO), you can catch the following bus lines:
462 - Campeche
410 - Rio Tavares
430 - Rio Tavares
Disembark at "Avenida Jorge Lacerda, 1360 - Costeira"

There is no official parking area for the event, but there is a large area for parking nearby where locals will offer to watch your car for a tip.
