Welcome Elephant Skateboards to The Boardr Store
Published 3/6/2014 by Rob Meronek
Mike V has been one of the hardest working dudes in skateboarding since he started skateboarding. I remember as a kid seeing him in the early Powell days at Cheap Skates in PA doing these half cab method airs to fakie on the mini-ramp and just having to pick my jaw up off the ground. Then there was the recent year he came back to Tampa and stole the show where it ended in the crowd carrying him around at the awards. Elephant Brand is his new project that includes Jason Adams and two close friends of The Boardr, Kyle Berard and Neal Hendrix. Mike's also the new frontman in Black Flag. It's all good all around with Elephant and Mike V's crew. We're hyped to have his gear in at The Boardr Store.

Welcome Dakine to The Boardr Store
2/16/2014
We've been working with Dakine on all these am contests we've been running for more than a decade now. From being in most of the prize packs to being on our backs while we travel, Dakine has been with us all around. It's a pleasure to have them in stock as our first bag company in The Boardr Store.
Welcome DC Shoes to The Boardr Store
2/11/2014
We're dipping a toe into the shoe pool with a small initial run from our friends at DC Shoes. DC was started in skateboarding's golden era, the early 90's. I've heard two stories on what the initials stand for. At the time, Droors Clothing, associated with Danny Way and Colin McKay, was super hot. They started a shoe company and called it DC, for Droors Clothing. Or was it for Danny and Colin? I don't know, but when I see Danny Way at events we do, I'm always too intimidated to ask him.
Join Us Monday for The Bland Opening of The Boardr Store
2/27/2014
That building in Tampa near the Bucs Stadium with no sign that you might drive right past? Yep, that's us at 4611 North Hale Avenue. There's no party, no fireworks, no naked ladies jumping out of cakes, and there's not even anything to skate! It's just the door opening up if you want to stop by and check out what we're up to here and maybe play a Game of SKATE on our glorious flatground in the empty TF. Join us for the low key, mellow ass, bland opening at 11am on Monday, March 3rd. We've got a lot of work left to do. Sometime down the road we'll make the real opening grand instead of bland.

We're continuing to slowly grow our Store, add new brands, and lay the foundation for our long term plans here at The Boardr which doesn't just include all these events we're doing. It includes retail. I love the sketchy skateboard industry and everything about it. If you're not part of it, I hope you get to work in it someday. There's never a dull moment. If you haven't been to The Boardr Store in a while, I've got a few photos for you.

Mike Vallely's Street Plant Brand
7/8/2014
It's been 25 years since Mike Vallely's Barnyard board on World Industries was released. I was lucky enough to be skating at the time. It was the first board that had a full size nose nearly as big as the tail and the one that blazed the trail to the modern board shape of the 90's that still is the staple 20 years later today...
