Miami Skateboarding, Ultra Music Fest, and Lil Wayne's Skatepark

Porpe, Knibbs, and HiDefJoe recently road tripped it to Miami for some ripping skateboarding and good times at MIA's Bum Rush the Spot. A techno music festival was going on at the same time so you can imagine what to expect there. Miami also means midnight sessions at Lil Wayne's place, too.

No Surprise: Skateboarding Climbing the Hip Hop Charts

I have 25+ years of rap lyrics memorized that you can get spilling from my lungs with just a small percentage of alcohol in my blood. It's been an interesting unfolding over those two plus decades watching that other thing I'm into mesh cultures with hip hop. Today I was cleaning up some of my digital memory banks and ran some key words through Rap Genius' Rap Stats tool. They catalog all these words in hip hop lyrics and created a tool that plots the useage of words in lyrics over the years. Are you surprised by the growth of skateboarding? I wonder if the sketchy skateboarding industry has seen the same growth in their numbers. In regular popsicle stick boards, my guess is no.
Nike's Stefan Lunar Wear Test Documented by HiDefJoe

HiDefJoe recently spent a week on a South Florida adventure to capture the good times on a wear test of Nike's new Stefan shoe with the heavenly footbed they call Lunar. Starting at MIA and going through Naples, our former employer SPoT, and on to Lakeland's park where we'll be on Go Skateboarding Day, it sure looked like a damn good skateboard time, especially combined with Joe's style in capturing it all.
