Grind for Life Series Presented by Marinela at Tampa - Contest and Annual Awards

The GFL Series is a national, all ages and skills series in both street and bowl benefiting the Grind for Life Organization, a 501(c)(3) non-profit that assists cancer patients with travel expenses.

The Boardr, 4611 North Hale Avenue, Tampa, Florida

Special Arrangements at This Stop

Note: All social distancing guidelines apply at all times. Each skater is allowed in the building with just one other person which can be a parent, friend, or sibling.

Additional important details are below on how this one is different from a regular GFL stop, including changes to the Schedule.

Waiver Required

Sign your waiver ahead of time here, or get your parent or legal guardian to if you're under 18.

Pre-Registration Online is Required

To maximize social distancing, there is no in-person registration offered for this stop. All registration must be done online at GFLSeries.com.

Each division has a maximum of 15 skaters. Register ASAP before spots fill up.

Participant Policies & Guidelines

  • Please practice all social distancing guidelines at all times
  • Driving separately is recommended
  • Face masks are recommended
  • There will be no wristbands issued, no check-in required, and no on-site registration
  • Skaters and guests will be kindly requested to remain outside gates until it is time for their Division
  • Entry and exit details
    • Skaters and guests will be permitted entry only after building is clear from prior Division
  • Facilities will be available for only skaters and guests during the time of their Division

  • Masks will be worn by The Boardr Staff during appropriate times

We will be running this schedule as close to on time as possible. Please arrive on time to not miss your Practice or Division. Unfortunately, adjustments cannot be made.

FRIDAY - PRACTICE
  • 10am: Staff Meeting and Rehearsal
  • 12pm - 12:50pm: Street 9 and Under & Bowl 9 and Under
  • 1pm - 1:50pm: Street 10 to 12 & Bowl 10 to 12
  • 2pm - 2:50pm: Street Women's & Bowl Women's
  • 3pm - 3:50pm: Street Advanced & Bowl Advanced
  • 4pm - 4:50pm: Street 30 and Up & Bowl 13 to 39
  • 5pm - 5:50pm: Street 13 to 15 & Street 16 to 29
  • 6pm - 6:50pm: Bowl Masters & Grand Masters
SATURDAY - CONTEST
  • 10am:
    • Street 9 and Under Division
    • Bowl 9 and Under Division
    • Tampa and Annual Awards and all skaters/guests exit building
  • 11am:
    • Street 10 to 12 Division
    • Bowl 10 to 12 Division
    • Tampa and Annual Awards and all skaters/guests exit building
  • 12pm:
    • Street Women's Division
    • Bowl Women's Division
    • Tampa and Annual Awards and all skaters/guests exit building
  • 1pm:
    • Street Advanced Division
    • Bowl Advanced Division
    • Tampa and Annual Awards and all skaters/guests exit building
  • 2pm:
    • Street 30 and Up Division
    • Bowl 13 to 39 Division
    • Tampa and Annual Awards and all skaters/guests exit building
  • 3pm:
    • Street 13 to 15 Division
    • Street 16 to 29 Division
    • Tampa and Annual Awards and all skaters/guests exit building
  • 4pm:
    • Bowl 40 to 49 Masters Division
    • Bowl 50 and Up Grand Masters Division
    • Tampa and Annual Awards and all skaters/guests exit building

Format

  • Street
    • Jams format: 2 skaters per jam, 2 minutes per jam. Judged on overall impression.
  • Bowl
    • Jams format: 6 skaters per jam, 3 runs at 30 seconds each, skate in order until you fall. Judged on overall impression.

Judging Criteria

Three qualified judges note the tricks and runs done to determine their scores after the jam is over based on a combination of difficulty, style, use of course, and trick selection. Their scores are averaged for your final score.

The final stop of the year here in Tampa is worth double points for Seasons Rankings purposes.
