Each year Empire Open (formerly Am Getting Paid) hosts The Boardr Am Finals. Winners of each stop at The Boardr Am now get a trip to Montreal and a chance at the $20,000 prize purse here.

About Empire Open, Including The Boardr Am Finals

Formerly Am Getting Paid, Empire Open in 2019 is now an open pro and am street contest in Montreal with separate divisions and an equal purse for men and women.

Empire Open is also hosting The Boardr Am Finals. Winners of each stop at The Boardr Am now get a trip to Montreal, a spot directly in the Semi-Finals, and a chance at the $20,000 prize purse here.

Register now online to save your spot at Empire Open. Refunds are completely okay if you can't make it. Entering the contest after it is already full, however, is not possible. Please take care of your registration before that happens.

    • Celebrating Empire’s 20th Anniversary
    • 11am - 3pm: Vans and Empire free skateboard lessons. Helmets, pads, and skateboards provided
    • 3pm: $2,000 Vans Best Trick
    • 7pm: Block Party and live performances
    • 10pm: After-Party at Don B Comber

  • Qualifiers
    • Jams format
    • Three skaters per jam, three minute jams
    • Jam scored on overall impression
    • Men’s top 30 make the cut to Semi-Finals on Saturday
    • Women’s top 10 make the cut to Finals on Saturday
      • If Women's Qualifiers has more than 60 skaters, there will be a 30 cut to Women's Semi-Finals
  • Men’s Semi-Finals
    • Top 30 from Friday Qualifiers plus The Boardr Am 2019 winners
    • Jams format
    • Three skaters per jam, three minute jams
    • Jam scored on overall impression
    • Top 10 make the cut to the Finals
  • Men’s and Women’s Finals
    • Runs format
    • Three runs, one minute each, time starts on first trick, best run counts
    • Each run scored on overall impression

$20,000 Prize Purse for Both Men and Women

  • 1st: 10,000
  • 2nd: 4,000
  • 3rd: 2,500
  • 4th - 10th: 500
