Get Rad for Ray: On The Boardr Video and Photos

Posted by Rob Meronek on Saturday, October 18, 2014

What a day for Ray it was in Raleigh today. We've got full results from everything that went down and an episode of On The Boardr below documenting the ripping and celebration of Ray's life. I've got a few photos below, too.

This was the first time a lot of people got to see Jack Winburn skate and he sure left an impression. Top three in the 13 and Under Division was Jack, Tyson, and Wyatt.

I don't know why, but I always think of Cindy Lauper when I see Kevin Staab, then I get the Goonies song stuck in my head.

Are they still making those Smith fingerless gloves? Those things are as old as me and Mike combined.

When Henry saw me, he said, "You're the guy who dressed as Christian Hosoi at the last 80's thing, right?" Ha, yep, that was me.

A pop tart is usually as a fakie frontside grab. Here, Tony's got one stale fish grab to earn himself a Ray chain for the Best Pop Tart Award. Ray did them the best.

Christian said he was told by a dude today that he's been waiting 30 years to see him skate in person. Man, I feel so damn lucky to be around all this.

Skateboarding's 2 Chainz, thanks for putting this event together and having us help with it.

Maybe Tony should give Mike one of his Ray chains to help him fit in? Ha, thanks everyone for a super fun Saturday and benefit for the disease that took Ray Underhill from us way too soon.
