Weekend Updates to the Dream Driveway

Over the weekend, a crew of #boardrboys rolled up sleeves and kicked up dust to get some updates done on the Dream Driveway and Ryan's house.

The base consists of all kinds of random throwaway concrete and tiles like this.
Have you seen all the news in the science industry about how trippy mushrooms connect certain gateways in your brain? There's some good scientific evidence mounting that it really does make you think different and more creative. Just sayin'.
The lower end of the driveway is where all this is going in.
All that dust kicking up is probably forming a nice layer of concrete over the pool.
Not quite the digital tools I'm used, too. Red Bull works good for both digital and manual tools, though.

Let me pause and show you my new whip I drove to the Driveway today. It's a straight bucket that I got off Craig's list from some redneck in Largo. I figured instead of your average dad car, I'd go for something old and fix it up a little. This is a 1986 Chrysler Fifth Avenue that smells like museum and makes my allergies explode, but runs great and will be good after a few fix-ups.

There's only an AM radio in here. I'm using a Beats Pill as the stereo.
It's getting there. Maybe we'll see you at the Dream Driveway soon?

A Dream Driveway Session With Locals

The long and downhill slope to Ryan's front doorstep is a driveway lined with skate stuff that we started referring to as the Dream Driveway. Yesterday there was a session with a few Tampa locals where I pointed digital devices to capture these images.

I feel like a broken record talking about how much I’ve traveled this summer, but damn it’s nice to be home for a bit. There were a few times this year that the coping on the Dream Driveway got a little rusty. So no better way to grind that surface rust right off than to have a few friends over. One of my childhood buddies, James Luedde, is a photographer, and kept asking to shoot some pics, so we hooked it up. Keep in mind that this is his first time ever shooting skating. Not bad.

Every year before Tampa Pro, we invite our friends in town to hang out by the river, push through the Dream Driveway, and dig in on Porpe's BBQ. Thanks to everyone that came by. We're looking forward to hanging out for the weekend and watching some great skating with no work to do for a change.

Today was a bit of prep work for a new addition to the Dream Driveway. It's simply moving rocks and dirt from point a to point b for now, like a bunch of worker ants.

Every year while Tampa Am brings all our global friends into town, we have a private party at the #DreamDriveway. It seems to get less and less private each year, but it's all good. Thanks to everyone that showed up for an afternoon of food, friends, skateboarding, and a view of Tampa that most visitors don't get to see.
