Yep, Skateboarding Gets Better and More Rewarding When You're Older

This week, we've got another amazing one from friend and many times co-worker of The Boardr, Neal Hendrix, who has been shredding the U for as long as we've all been skateboarding. Both he and Vern have similar quotes regarding filming a part later in life: 'It's funny how it's more rewarding at 40 than at 20.' Don't quit skateboarding, kids, even through growing up with jobs, girlfriends, bills, and weaker legs. You'll be so glad you stayed committed to rolling. Sammy Winter Pro for Cliche

Wednesday, October 30, 2013

When I see slo-mo black and white footage, I'm expecting Dylan Rieder with a lit smoke and tank top to come out and stare the lens down like a stallion. This slo-mo black and white footage, however, is Sammy Winter going pro for Cliche. Congrats, Sammy.

Nyjah Huston and Crew in an AYC Raw Footage Edit

Tuesday, October 29, 2013

Ride has an alternate edit from that Asphalt Yacht Club Miami piece featuring Nyjah Huston, Stevie Williams, Riley Hawk, and the rest of the AYC crew. They killed it at all those spots. I want to see Stefan's cell phone edit! And Riley's ollie over to Willy grind? We'll just call that an ollie over to switch hurricane so it sounds less gross.

Damn, check the footage from Louie's opener in the new Thrasher. The first time I ever saw that trick was Matt Hensley doing them on benches in the H-Street video. Over two decades later, I never thought I'd see it like this.

Jordan's Day Hoff

GX1000 in Montreal

Wednesday, October 23, 2013

Now, every time I see footage of Yonnie, I'm expecting something indoors. He comes through with more ripping in the new GX1000 along with Jake Johnson, Antoine Asselin, Brian Delatorre, Phil Lajuenesse, Charles Rivaro, and Alexis Lacroix wrapping it up with a scary manny to 5-0 on a round rail and a ski jump wallie.

Adidas Welcomes Dennis Durant

Monday, October 21, 2013

Adidas welcomes Dennis Durant to their international team with this ripping part. His flat ground 360 flips at speed are snappy. Actually everything's snappy from the front cane on the bench back to the king sized switch back smiths, with some scary fakie flips in there, too.

Sean Malto and the Pretty Sweet Tour

Monday, October 14, 2013

Sebo Walker and the Lakai Crew in London

Tuesday, October 8, 2013

It's pretty funny seeing "after black" in an internet video. Remember those gems they used to put after the video credits in old skate videos? It's just not the same online when you're looking at the video timer knowing there's two minutes left. Check out the Lakai team killing it in London, including Sebo Walker. That crooked grind on the flat bar to king sized nollie half cab flip out was nuts.

Welcome to Brixton, Brad Cromer

Sunday, September 22, 2013

Fakie flip fakie 5-0 frontside halfcab out? In a line. Yep, Brad is killing it in this intro video from Brixton. I got an email from his dad who we've known since Brad was a wee little ripping boy skating all the Damn Ams we've done over the last decade. The subject was, "Check out what The Gonz is holding!" and attached was the photo below. How proud of a dad Mr. Cromer must be to have such a ripping kid with his head on straight who just turned pro. Congrats all around to the whole Cromer family.

Brodie Pendrod in His Hometown

Wednesday, September 18, 2013

We've known Brodie for years from doing all these am contests all over the world, but you might know him from his consistent placings in the Finals at Tampa Am every year. Ride Channel has a feature with him putting it down in his own hometown that looks like it was filmed in a day. Catch some ripping here from Brodie, yet another top am skating an amazing level that has to hold down a full time job all year round to make it work. What would you do if you were Brodie? Drop everything, wing it, and move to California? Is that too risky? Who knows, skateboarding and the career/bid'niss portion of it sometimes is pretty hard to figure out.

Emerica Made Chapter One

Damn, I don't know Jeremy at all, but I'm looking forward to seeing him skate in person for sure. We got the same half Philipino, half white status. Jeremy's part is isane and it only goes up from there with Leo, Collin, and Brandon, plus the ripping TM. You've probably already seen it by now, but you know it's worth another check. Emerica is killing it as usual.
